Bottling: Still Sucks

I finished up two batches this weekend. The first was the Irish Red-inspired ale described below. I was skeptical that it would be done in a week, but the hydrometer does not lie. It went from 1.050 to 1.013 in seven days! I probably could have taken one more point off with a couple weeks in secondary, but I've got an empty tap and that just will not do. So, into the keg it went. Should be pouring in a week.

The next batch was an Arrogant Bastard inspired american strong ale. I've already got one big beer on tap (double IPA), so this went into bottles. It was the first beer I've bottled since I moved to kegs four batches ago and I'd forgotten just how much work is involved in doing so. Even factoring in keg disassembly and cleaning, bottling takes at least an hour longer and leaves twice as much cleanup.

Of course, now I've got a great big, delicious beer I can age without sacrificing keg space. I think I'll put up one more before the summer hits, likely an imperial stout.
