The Lucky Lab

I'm not sure I get all the hubbub that surrounds the Lucky Lab. I went there for the first time a few weeks ago and left feeling underwhelmed.
I mean, don't get me wrong. I was far from unhappy. The pizza was delicious, the staff was helpful, and beer was certainly drinkable. It's just wasn't the slam dunk I was expecting.

I think maybe I'd just built it up in my mind to degree that didn't match reality. I had a nitro Irish stout, an IPA, and a whole lot of Super Dog. The Super Dog is the only one I think back fondly on. Big citrus (Amarillo?) and not too heavy; a great NW pitcher beer I'd definitely revisit. The IPA was far too subtle and the stout had a funny, estery quality that turned me off.

I guess this is just more proof that we're a bunch of spoiled sons of bitches here in Beervana. You know you've got it good when a place can make great beer and still leave you wanting.
