I Love Concordia

The Concordia Ale House is probably my favorite place in all of Portland to get a pint (or three). Everything about it pushes the right buttons. It's uncrowded. The food is a great deal better than standard pub far. There's no smoking allowed inside. The staff is friendly, attentive without being pushy, and familiar with their taps.

God, their taps. Always rotating and always pouring something delicious. Look at the tap list, for crying out loud (if you could see the bottom, you'd see Saison Dupont). Last night I had Mad River Double IPA, Speakeasy's Double Daddy IPA, and Walking Man's Knuckle Dragger. There wasn't an average beer in the bunch, but I think I have to give beer of the night to Double Daddy. Just about the only thing I didn't like was the finish. Once the bitterness was done with its assault, I was left with some brief astringency. Nothing to keep me from finishing the pint, though (and at nearly 10% ABV, it was a hell of a pint).
